Junzo Yoshimura designed Shofuso, a structure that now resides in Philadelphia (www.shofuso.com). It is through visiting and volunteering at Shofuso that I learned about Junzo Yoshimura. His architecture is significant in the modern architecture world,but more importantly, it is thoughful and respectful of natureand a great representation of Japanese design aesthetic. It would be a sad waste to demolish the buildings at Aichi-gedai. One would think that the leaders of a Japanese Fine Arts would appreciate the value of it's own countryman's design. I hope Yoshimura's creations will be preserved.
吉村順三は現在フィラデルフィアに建つ松風荘（www.shofuso.com)を設計した。松風荘を訪れ、またそこでのボランティア活動を通して吉村順三のことを知った。
現代建築の中で彼の作品は際立っているが、それより重要なのは、彼の建築には思いやりがあり、自然に対して優しく、それが審美的日本のデザインを表していることである。愛知芸大における建物を壊すのは悲しい浪費である。日本の芸術界のリーダー達が自分の国の人がデザインしたものを評価することは当然だと思うのだが・・・。吉村の作ったものが保存されることを願うものである。

Architectural heritage such as this campus, which follows the natural features of the land and preserves it, should be respected as a cultural treasure. Especially in a land such as Japan,which reveres its culture, it is difficult to understand how this treasure can be tossed aside so callously.
自然本来の地形を保ち、その上に建てられたこのキャンパスの様な建築遺産は文化財として尊ばれるべきだ。日本の様な文化を重んじる国でこの財産が無神経にも投げ捨てられる事は理解に苦しむ。
